The Vestal School District invites residents of the Apalachin community to attend a Town Hall Meeting to learn more about a proposed capital project involving the construction of a new Transportation Facility on district-owned property adjacent to Tioga Hills Elementary School. 

The proposed project is intended to modernize the District’s transportation facilities and provide a safe, efficient, and functional location to support the transportation needs of our students and schools. It will include updated electrical infrastructure that can support the New York State Governor’s mandate of updating the bus fleet to zero-emission buses. 

Current plans for the proposed facility include: 

•    Parking for approximately 62 school buses and 80 employees
•    Six bus bays and lifts to support current and future bus fleet
•    Bus wash
•    Dedicated bus driver training area
•    Offices and workspace for Transportation staff
•    ADA compliant offices, meeting spaces, and hallways

We want to hear from our community! We recognize that a project of this nature is important not only to the School District, but also to the residents who live in the surrounding community. 

The Town Hall will provide an opportunity for residents to learn about the proposed project, view preliminary plans, hear about the District’s goals and considerations, ask questions, and share feedback directly with District representatives and members of the project team.
